Well, not so essential maybe, but I cannot resist modding the hell out of this browser.

Screen Real estate

• Tinymenu: the menubar in just one menu item
• minifoxflat: a small theme

Browsing aids

• pdf download: provides with a menu to download, display or convert to html when you click on a .pdf link
• tab mix plus: more or less the definitive tool to manage your tabs
• add bookmark here: priceless with complicated bookmark folders
• video download helper: to download anything on the page
• fireftp: an ftp client builtin
• either flashgot or downthemall, two download manager (the first uses something already installed, the second is builtin)
• leet key: translates from/to 1337, rot13 and so on
• web developer: a wealth of tools, not just for developers
• nuke anything enhanched: to get rid of annoying stuff on webpages
• brief rss reader
• right click link: adds a menu option to open text links

Security

• flagfox: geolocation for the site you’re visting
• firesomething: the funniest way to obfuscate your browser identity
• bugmenot: bypass pointless registrations
• header monitor: shows interesting stuff in the styatusbar
• passive cache: opens google cache’s version of an url
• user agent switcher: masquerade as whatever browser you want (look here for an enormous list)

Search engines

• wikipedia
• merriam-webster dictionary
• add to searchbar plugin: the most interesting stuff isn’t on mycroft anyway
